November progress.

I've been busily trying to finish some things that have been taking up space in my sewing room.

The Trilogy's 'Autumn Spots' was part of my Crazy January Challenge back in 2011.  Took me long enough to finish it.  I swear the bow is less imposing in real life!

'January' by Waxing Moon Designs was not a neglected piece.  I think I started it in October.

Love the motif.  I have a long list of errands and hope to include a stop at the frame shop.  The weatherman is calling for snow and my errands include a whole lot of driving so I have to wait until after my morning meeting to see what is happening outside.

I also finished these blocks left idle after a class last fall.  I don't know if this block has a name.  We learned to make the block as a variation of another block so I'm not sure what to call it.  I had the use of a design wall so I put the blocks up to see what they looked like but I am not sure if this will be the lay-out I go with.  The fun of a block like this is that you can achieve different looks with different lay-outs.

Finally, another long time WIP that has been lanquishing in a box.

It is missing the outer border and corner stones because I had to purchase some yardage...which I hadn't done at the time of lay-out.

Primitive Gatherings '45 & Life To Go'.  It is so named for the 45 star blocks.  They are small blocks finishing at 5 inches...and each star block has 41 pieces.  I love tiny pieces.  The pattern includes the directions to make the blocks 10 inches but it was the small size that drew me.

I have finished assembling the top minus the border but haven't taken a photo yet.  You'll just have to live in suspense until it is quilted.

I have more old projects in the works but am not sure how much sewing time I'll manage with Thanksgiving.  I will have a house full.

Happy Stitching,

Pam

  2. I am SO behind on blog reading, but glad I managed to see this post, Pam! I love how your little Autumn Spots finish turned out--the bow is darling :) And you know I love January--you'll probably have yours framed before I will and I finished mine years ago...

Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving Day! I'm so glad all the kids (plus one!) will be there together :)
