A finish and a WIP

Check Spelling

Yesterday I finished LHN's Holly & Berries. Such a cute little piece. I don't know why it took me so long. I started it last spring at my quilt retreat and didn't pick it up again until this week while in Florida. I actually brought it to Florida last spring but didn't touch it. So, it's racking up as many frequent flyer miles as me.

The WIP I brought along is a Crab Apple Hill pattern called Over the River and Through the Woods. It's a quilt with 3 embroidered panels. I traced the pattern on to the fabric and have only stitched a little part. I'm expecting this to take ages to finish. I love these types of patterns and have trouble resisting them. It looks daunting in the beginning but it will be worth it in the end. I've seen pictures of this made in other colors but I was really drawn to the cream and black. No guarantee there will be an update on this for a long time but you never know.

Back to work.

  1. I just got back from my vacation at the beach and am trying to catch up on all of my favorite blogs :)

Didn't you love stitching Holly & Berries? I stitched it earlier this year and just love how it turned you--yours looks great and will be a wonderful addition to your tree this year.

And that quilt pattern--wow! I've never seen anything like it. I really look forward to seeing your updates--it is going to be striking in the cream and black color scheme :)
